EVERGLADES BOATS AND HALL-OF-FAMER, MIKE SCHMIDT, TEAM UP AGAINST CYSTIC FIBROSIS
Schmidt to help raise awareness and donation funds

Edgewater, Fla. – Raising awareness, and making a difference in the lives of families scarred by cystic fibrosis, is sometimes called an uphill battle. However, Everglades Boats and baseball Hall-of-Famer, Mike Schmidt, are calling it a team effort and have partnered to increase donations to benefit those battling this incurable disease.

In an effort to raise awareness and money to donate to Mike Schmidt’s Winner’s Circle, Everglades launched the 2008 Everglades Mike Schmidt Winner’s Circle Raffle, from which someone will win an Everglades 243cc with a 300 Suzuki engine. Raffle tickets are being sold at participating Everglades dealers.  The tickets are $25 each or five tickets for $100.  All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by way of the Mike Schmidt Winner’s Circle.  Everglades will draw the winning ticket on May 10, 2008, during Mike Schmidt’s annual Winner’s Circle Fishing Tournament.

Everglades Boats and Mike Schmidt kicked off their partnership during the 7th Annual Mike Schmidt Winner’s Circle Fishing Tournament in the Bahamas, last spring. It was during this tournament that Everglades presented Mike Schmidt’s Winner’s Circle with a $10,000 donation and, this year, are hoping to raise $75,000 to donate.

“We were honored to be a part of the Winner’s Circle and are extremely impressed with Mike’s dedication to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” said Stephen Dougherty, president of Everglades Boats. “We now share his enthusiasm and are looking forward to providing an outlet for our dealers and customers to also get involved.”
