Edgewater, Fla. (January 4, 2009) – Everglades Boats, a leading manufacturer of luxury-fishing boats, experienced a fire over the weekend in the R&D portion of its manufacturing plant. The fire, believed to have started when an overhead factory light burst and showered sparks over a curtain separating work sections, damaged materials, tools and facilities but will not hinder current production. Official damage estimates are not available until insurance and fire officials finish with standard procedural reviews of property.
The fire started approximately 4:30 PM on Sunday, January 3 and was quickly extinguished by local City of Edgewater fire fighters. Based on official reports, local engine 55 was dispatched to scene at 5:26 PM, arrived at 5:32 PM and fire was reported under control at 6:39 PM.
According to Fire Marshal, Jeff Lariscy, “The fire sprinkler system alerted Everglades’ security monitoring service personnel who made the first call to local fire authorities. The sprinkler system contained the fire exactly as it was designed prior to arrival of fire fighters who then extinguished the blaze at its source.”
“We were blessed to have such a quick response from the local authorities and based on our initial visual inspections, our current production rate will continue unhindered,” Stephen Dougherty, President, Everglades Boats.
In fact, for 2010, Everglades has increased production rates on its main manufacturing lines and has increased the plant and office workforce to a total of 60 employees. Everglades is also actively searching for qualified lamination, assembly and finishing personnel to support the anticipated increase in demand.
According to company President, Stephen Dougherty, “Our current field inventories are at their lowest levels in seven years. The market demands are far exceeding our ability to manufacture boats at this time but we are thankful to have weathered the storm and look forward to the challenges ahead.”

Edgewater, Fla. (Nov. 2, 2009) – Everglades, a leading manufacturer of luxury offshore and inshore boats, celebrates huge success during the recent 2009 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Everglades Boats retailed 14 boats during the show which outpaced retail sales from the previous year. These deals are contracted with cash deposits and do not include the many other potential sales that will transpire in the weeks following the show.
In addition to the retail sales, Everglades confirmed numerous wholesale orders through the appointment of two new dealers, Plantation Boat Mart, Tavernier Key, Florida and Boaters Warehouse, Port Clinton, Ohio.
“I’m ecstatic,” said Greg Allen, Everglades Vice President of Sales. “The overall exhibits in the show were dramatically reduced but we were able to secure a prominent position inside the convention center and capitalize on our display with local and international buyers.”
According to company President Stephen Dougherty, “Our field inventories are approaching numbers reminiscent of the first year we were in business. Many retail customers understand that in order to enjoy a new 2010 model Everglades boat they must buy now. There just won’t be a lot of new models to choose from in dealer showrooms in the near future.”
The positive retail and wholesale activity provides a solid basis to plan for additional 2010 manufacturing. Everglades anticipates a gradual increase in production in the coming weeks.

Edgewater, Fla. (October 6, 2009) – Everglades’ Commercial and Government Division recently delivered its second commercial law enforcement vessel since entering the marketplace just four months ago. The 21 CC was sold to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department located in Southeast Minnesota. The 21CC patrol boat will be in service in the Mississippi River and Lake Byllesby waters separating the northwest portion of the county from Wisconsin.
“I’ve been at this since 1986, and have ordered a lot of boats over the years…this has been, without a doubt, the best experience I’ve ever had purchasing. Mike Collins did a fabulous job of keeping us updated with photos as the boat came through the line and he was more than flexible with any special requests we made. Rest assured that Everglades will get some great word-of-mouth advertising in this part of the country.” Kris Johnson, Goodhue County Operations Sergeant.
According to company President, Stephen Dougherty, “Our first commercial prototype, the 35 Full Pilot, generated interest worldwide and we are beginning to see returns on that initial investment. Our production and engineering facilities are a perfect fit for a wide variety of custom boat applications. We specialize in building marine craft that require more than your average run-of-the-mill specifications.”
The 21 Center Console series is a vessel equally comfortable patrolling inland waterways and lakes or near shore bodies of water. Standard specifications include commercial rub rails, heavy duty trim tabs, unsinkable RAMCAP construction, self bailing cockpit, nonskid decking, vinylester resins and lockable/customizable storage throughout. Command helm features ample room for optional navigational equipment, AirPax marine switches and a leaning post/seat with footrest. LOA, 21’ 7”, Beam 8’ 6”, 3,400 lbs dry weight.

Edgewater, Fla. (February 18, 2009) – Everglades Boats, a leading manufacturer of luxuryfishingboats, reports exceptional boat sales through the Atlanta, Atlantic City and Miami International Boat Shows. Retail sales totaling more than US three million dollars during these important shows are a good indicator of improving consumer confidence. Also, initial sales during the first weekend of the New England Boat Show are a sign of better retail market conditions.

“We have made some very difficult but prudent decisions regarding labor and materials in the past few months to make sure we are prepared to meet retail demand when the market recovers,” said Everglades’ President, Stephen Dougherty. “Our temporary suspension of production has allowed the retail markets to lower inventories in a few short months and has freed up floorplan dollars allowing our dealer network to commence a normal flow of product. We will start a limited production crew beginning March 2 and gradually bring employees back as the retail markets continue to improve.”

Everglades maintains a strong demand throughout the US and International markets compared to competitive products. According to Vice President of Sales, Greg Allen, “Our dealers have demand and are fortunate to be selling a modern, finely detailed luxury outboard sportfishing boat. I am confident and optimistic that the immediate retail sales we have completed in the early winter boat shows are positive signs of an improving or at least stabilized market in the near term.”

Everglades departments are operating with a limited workforce to maintain Customer Service, Sales/Marketing and Financial functions at levels designed to support the dealer network and customers. A limited production workforce is scheduled to return in March based on the most recent sales activity. Everglades is open for business and optimistically preparing for the coming year based on the current number of ordered boats.

Everglades boats has quickly become a leader in the sportfishing outboard boat markets by delivering innovative new products in an progressive fashion, growing market share at the expense of competitive brands. During the 2008 model year and the first few months of 2009, Everglades introduced two brand new express models, the 320 and 350 Express, two new center console models, the 210 and 230 CC and several major model year changes to complete its line at thirteen boats from 21 to 35 feet in length.

EVERGLADES LAUNCHES ITS NEW 320 EXPRESS, THE FIRST OF A COMPLETE LINE TO COME

Edgewater, Fla. – Everglades Boats, a leading manufacturer of premium offshore and inshore boats, will introduce their first true Express, the 320EX, at the following 2008 premier fall boat shows, Norwalk, Annapolis, Tobay In-Water and Ft. Lauderdale International.

“We are excited to deliver the company’s first Express style boat,” said Everglades president, Stephen Dougherty. “The 320EX is the first of a complete line of Express models to come. It’s built with the same commitment to innovation and quality we deliver in all of our luxury offshore and inshore boats.”

The 320EX boasts many new and exciting features including a bridge deck complete with tempered glass windshield forward and full tempered glass windows port and starboard. The bridge has a dedicated helm air system with a total of nine manually adjustable vents and a built-in defroster for the front windshield. Drop the aft curtain, open your cabin door and let the second dedicated a/c system help cool the entire bridge deck to a comfortable environment for afternoon or nighttime entertainment in those warmer climates. Don’t need the A/C? Then take advantage of the three electric window vents above the windshield for plenty of open air flow.

At the helm, a fully adjustable premium captain’s chair with footrest will delight even the saltiest of sea farers. The Captain controls all vessel systems from the touch screen, E-Plex digital switching system. A second touch panel in the cabin lets users control interior systems down below. Passenger seating on the lounge to port is the perfect height for comfortable cruises. And the full height windows, port and starboard, offer an obstruction-free view and provide complete weather protection for the entire helm deck.

Down below, 6-foot-4-inches of standing headroom in the main cabin, an enclosed head with wet shower, full galley with one burner stove, combination microwave/coffee maker and mid-cabin bunk are just waiting for that first overnight voyage. The cabin is elegantly finished with teak accents and modern interior fabrics.

Serious anglers appreciate the huge cockpit and, when docked, family and crew will appreciate the optional deck/fighting chairs. A bait-rigging station complete with cutting board, tackle storage and sink is conveniently located at the starboard side. To port another bank of drawers and cavernous storage hold your stores. Transom fish box and livewell handle your bait and your catch. Under gunwale storage, and large steps to port and starboard walkways, complete the cockpit. Also standard on the 320EX are twin Yamaha 350 V8 outboards with electronic controls and power steering

The 320EX offers owners more options and amenities for longer trips and overnight stays and can transform into a home away from home.

The 320EX is now available for purchase at Everglades dealers nationwide. Click here for more information and photos of the first Everglades Express.

The new 243cc also has plenty of recessed storage areas, the Everglades’ signature built-in dual-use seats, and the Combo Leaning Post-Command Seat with swing-up footrest. For anglers, the boat features an aft 36-gallon livewell, a 75-gallon in-floor fish box, 22 rod holders and port and starboard tackle lockers.

Like all Everglades boats, the 2009 243cc uses the patented RAMCAP construction process to create a virtually unsinkable offshore fishing boat for the safest experience on the water.

The 350LX, 320cc and 210cc demonstrate comfort, style and innovation unlike any.

Edgewater, Fla.—Everglades Boats, a leading manufacturer of innovative family fishing boats, officially introduced three new boats, to their impressive collection. The 350LX, 320cc and 210cc draw upon Everglades’ impeccable reputation for luxury and functionality for avid anglers and family fishing trips alike.

Everglades 350LX, a cuddy that redefines the term, is a seamless combination of performance, style and comfort like no other boat on the market. The list of amenities and distinctive features is extensive, but most notable is the fact that the 350LX can comfortably sleep six – four in the cabin, and two more on the upper deck, where a dinette table converts to a comfortable sleeping area that can be secured with the weather enclosure for a fully air-conditioned room. The interior includes a full stand-up head with shower; granite countertops; stainless sinks; a fresh- and saltwater sink that doubles as a cutting board to create a flat workstation; stainless microwave with built-in coffee maker; swivel flat-screen television and DVD player; refrigerator; and A/C in the cabin and cockpit.

Angling amenities abound as well: a huge fish box across the transom, two livewells, rod storage under the gunnels on both sides, storage for 10 rods on the underside of the hard top, and TACO Grand Slam Outriggers.

The 320cc is an ultra-serious fishing boat that can equally accommodate family pleasure boating with luxury and comfort. The 131 square feet of cockpit area provides plenty of walkaround room and storage space that is tucked away throughout. For anglers, the 320cc is loaded: 8-drawer tackle station with stainless steel sink, three fish boxes, huge livewell, lockable rod storage and the list goes on. For family cruising, this boat offers a roomy bow seating area with an electric filler table that converts to a padded sun lounge. Furthermore, the 320cc features white powder-coated rails and red LED lights throughout the boat for added safety. The 320cc offers twin Yamaha 350, twin Suzuki 300 and twin Mercury 300 engine options.

Everglades 210cc replaces the 211cc with a fresh new design, utilizing state of the art technology. It contains as much forward thinking squeezed into 21ft., 7 inches as humanly possible. The 210cc is designed for performance, style, convenience and an efficient use of space. For example, the traditional-style bow roller integrates a removable ladder for easy boarding from the beach. Once detached the ladder collapses creating additional storage space on board. Other forward thinking features include a leaning post that converts to a comfortable bench seat, a spacious head with porta-potty, a full sun deck that doubles as a casting platform and ample storage throughout. It comes with single Suzuki, Honda, Mercury or Yamaha engine options.

The 350LX, 320cc and 210cc can be made available for a sea trial. Contact Laura D’Abbondanza at 407-970-4986 to schedule an appointment.
